DESCRIPTION:This regular bi-monthly meeting will bring together leading business-led think tanks\, including APINDO Institute\, KADIN Indonesia Institute\, HIPMI Institute\, Prasasti Center for Policy Studies\, and IBC Institute. \nThe meeting will serve as a platform to strengthen synergy\, coordination\, and collaboration among business-led think tanks in Indonesia. It will also provide an opportunity for each institution to share its current agenda\, policy priorities\, research focus\, and upcoming initiatives. \nThrough this discussion\, participants will explore potential areas of alignment and cooperation\, including joint studies\, policy dialogues\, public advocacy\, and strategic engagement with government and other stakeholders. The meeting will aim to build a more connected and collaborative ecosystem of business-led policy institutions that can contribute more effectively to Indonesia’s economic and policy development.

SUMMARY:Focus Group Discussion on Skills Supply and Demand\, "Reducing Educated Unemployment"
DESCRIPTION:IBC recommended prioritising non-English-speaking markets such as Japan\, Germany\, and South Korea\, where Indonesian workers face less competition than counterparts from the Philippines and Vietnam. Welding\, caregiving\, and hospitality offer the most promising opportunities. IBC proposed vocational schools that function as dedicated corridors\, each tailored to the language\, skill\, and certification requirements of a particular destination market. \nIBC also noted that with roughly 60 percent of Indonesia’s 140 million workers in informal employment\, their transition into formal work hinges on readiness to fill the roles new investment creates. \nThe discussion was convened by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs on 9 September 2026.
